The first step in defeating divorce...

Is knowing when to get married.  With divorce rates climbing higher and higher every year, how should we, as Christians, decide to get married?

With regard to soulmates, if God truly has someone in mind that he wants us to marry, is it possible for us to marry someone who isn't our "soul mate??  What about if your significant other dies?  Is it possible that you might have multiple "soul mates" over the course of your life?

Discuss!

  1. Yeah that's why I think it's hard to believe that we have "soul mates", defined as the one perfect person. Where did that term come from anyway? It's certainly not Biblical. Once you mistakenly take someone else's soul mate, you ruin the whole order of mankind. good job.

But if people refer to soul mates as a nice way to describe a deep connection or "good chemistry" that they feel with someone, then that's fine. I can go with that... as long as it's not understood to mean the ONE and ONLY person God created for you.
